The Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Vienna is the largest Austrian institution of mathematical research and tertiary education in the mathematical sciences. It consists of active research groups in a wide range of fields, starting from logical foundations, bridging all classical core subjects, and up to concrete applications in industry. As part of the Faculty, the Institute of Mathematics represents the entire discipline of mathematics in research and teaching, without making an arbitrary separation into pure and applied fields.



Duration of employment: 2 year/s

Extent of Employment: 40 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Job Description:
The advertised post doc position is within the `Numerical Harmonic Analysis Group’ (NuHAG) and associated with the FWF project P33217 `Inside the Frame Set’ of Dr. Markus Faulhuber (email: markus.faulhuber@univie.ac.at).

We are looking for a highly qualified researcher with special interests in harmonic analysis. The successful candidate is able to actively contribute to the research profile of the Faculty of Mathematics in the area of harmonic analysis with a focus on time-frequency analysis.


Profile:
A Doctoral degree / PhD or similar qualification is required for all candidates as well as experience in teaching and research. Past research should be documented by publications in recognized scientific journals.
