at the Department of Nursing Science

The Department of Nursing Science of the University of Vienna was founded in 2005 and is part of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The department emphasizes research projects in Family Care, Care for the Elderly, Oncological Nursing, Palliative and Community Care. The Department of Nursing Science encourages methodological discussions and matters related to research ethics.

The position is a temporary replacement. From 5 February 2022 there is a possibility of a temporary extension to the extent of the employee's absenteeism.

The position is vacant for the period of absence of a member of staff.



Extent of Employment: 20 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Job Description:
Active participation in research, teaching and administration, this implies
1. Contribution to research:
- Active involvement on the content and the advancement of one of the research topics of the department
- Establishment or further development of an independent research profile
- Conduction of/Contribution to research projects / scientific studies
- Independent writing publications / scientific articles
- Project application and (external) fundraising

2. Participation to teaching:
- Independent holding classes due to extent regulations of wage agreement
- Examination acitvities and support of students

3. Administrative assistance:
- Organizational self-administration at the departmental and faculty level
- Participation in evaluation activities and in quality assurance
- Contribution to organisation of conferences, meetings, symposiums


Profile:
- Doctoral degree/PhD in nursing science or a related field of study and Master or Magister degree in nursing science or a related field of study
- Project experience
- Publication experience
- Professional competences in one of the research areas of the Institute
- Research methodological competences
- Didactical competences
- Excellent German and English language skills (written and oral)
- IT user skills
- Teamwork abilities
- High level of written and oral communication skills



In addition, we expect the successful candidate to have
- Teaching experience / experience of working with e-learning
- Experience of working on research projects
- Publications in renowned, subject-relevant media (peer-reviewed, depending on the professional standards)
- International presentation experience

- Experience of supervising students
