To strengthen our team in the tax law department at the Institute for Economic Law, we are hiring a temporary position as a university assistant prae doc of 30 hours/week for a limited period of four years from May 2, 2022 or by arrangement.

The employment relationship is initially limited to 1.5 years and is automatically extended to a total of 4 years, unless the employer submits a declaration of non-renewal after a maximum of 12 months.

Extent of Employment: 30 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Job Description:
Your area of ​​responsibility:
• Participation in research in the field of tax law under the leadership of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Daniela Hohenwarter-Mayr, LL.M.
• Participation in exams and evaluation
• Independent conduct of courses and exams
• Supervision of students
• Independent research activities aiming at acquiring a profound professional and scientific knowledge
• Participation in research management tasks at the institute
• Writing a dissertation in tax law


Profile:
Mag. iur. or LL.M. in law studies, MSc in business administration with an emphasis on taxation (a very good knowledge of the Austrian tax law system is required). We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months – Excellent command of written and spoken German – Very good knowledge of written and spoken English - Computer literacy – knowledge of university structures and processes –Ability to work independently and scientifically - Ability to work in teams

Knowledge of International and European tax law is desired - Specific interest in the department’s main research areas of International and European corporate tax law – First academic work in the field of tax law and didactic skills are advantageous – Interest in planning, carrying out, and presenting independent research - great commitment to work with students (e.g. supervision of theses) - Your application should include the following documents: - Letter of motivation - (Academic) curriculum vitae - List of publications, evidence of teaching experience (if available) - Degree certificates
