At the Institute of Biophysical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry, a position for an university assistant (prae-doc) is available for the area of synthesis, characterization and investigation of polyoxometalates. The contract duration is 3 years with a preliminary limitation of 1,5 years and will automatically be extended to 3 years unless the employer hands in a non-extension declaration after 12 months. An extension up to a total of 4 years is then possible provided the excellent performance of the candidate.



Duration of employment: 3 year/s

Extent of Employment: 30 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Job Description:
-Participation and implementation of research projects in the field of biophysical chemistry with a focus on the characterization of a metalloprotein including molecular biological work or synthesis of a polyoxmetallate with the possibility of writing a dissertation.
- A doctoral thesis agreement is expected to be concluded within 12-18 months
- Participation in and independent holding of courses in the scope of the collective agreement provisions, Supervision of students and participation in the institute, teaching and research administration


Profile:
Completed degree (Master, Diplomingenieur) in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, physics or similar.. Excellent command of written and spoken English Capacity for teamwork
